Amazingly, we have hardly any injury worries. Eddie Annand, Barry Lavety and Laurie Ellis are all fit, but not match fit so will get the bench at best. Annand appeared last week for ten minutes and will probably get the same again tomorrow. Even David Jack is back in training, though probably won't play for the first team this year. So the only definite no no is player bus Gus MacPherson, who probably isn't bothered about playing anyway.
Mark Dempsie should be fit enough to return, however he may face difficulty in replacing the surprisngly good Captain Chaos, who looked like some sort of ninja last week with his black and white head bandage. He also reminded me of Terry Butcher and Richard Gough, who both played for their countries with massive bandages. Obviously someone told him he was one of those players. Perhaps we should whack him on the head before every game.
Other previous injury worries and strugglers, like Simon Lappin and Brian McGinty should be fit, although hopefully Brian won't start. If John O'Neill is fit, we must play him. He scored two against Queen of the South back in January, much to the announce of the fans who used to love him, and it goes back to the tradition in football that players score against their former sides.
Fortunately, Queen of the South don't have any former Saints, although earlier in the season they did have former Saints goalkeeper (and I use the phrase loosely) Kris Robertson for a few games. His debut was against us, and it was also MacPherson's first game in charge. We won, thanks to kris being beaten with a Ricky Gillies free kick which made David Seaman look unlucky against Brazil.
A few of Queen of the South's star players have recently agreed new one year deals. One of those players is Steve Bowey. This isn't good as I'd have quite liked him at Love Street next season. We were apparently linked with him in the summer and I feel he'd have been a great signing.
It will be a tough game tomorrow, as we haven't won since the last time we played Queen of the South. They are also on a poor run, so taking at least a point is possible.
