We haven't had the best of luck against the Doonhamers so far this season. We've lost to them in a friendly and the League Cup and were perhaps fortunate to draw with them in the Scottish Cup 10 days ago. We owe them one and hopefully the fact we've finally got them on our own turf will help edge things in our favour – if nothing else, at least we won't hear excuses about artificial surfaces!
Queens haven't been doing particularly well in the league this season but they beat Dumbarton on Saturday and performed very well against us at Palmerston. They were full of energy and seemed to be able to cut our defence open at ease. Iain Russell was a real live wire, while Derek Lyle came off the bench and made a real nuisance of himself. With Dan Carmichael waiting to come in and the likes of Gavin Reilly and Michael Paton doing well we have plenty of threats to watch out for, while their defence isn't exactly the worst I've ever seen.
We haven't scored in our last two games but in between times we've had a 2-2 draw with Queens. Not a fantastic run of form but not a horrendous one either so we'll probably stick with the same team. There are question marks over Jim Goodwin's displays of late but he'll probably keep his place, while hopefully Paul McGowan can play the whole game this time. He lasted just 20 minutes in Dumfries and we were far worse without him, so we really need him to last tomorrow night.
That's your lot for this one - don't think I could add too much else to the preview from the original tie, which can be seen at. Sadly, there won't be an in-depth report of this one but I'll hopefully have a few details online tomorrow night.
