We do have one, major, injury problem, however. Mixu is still out. We struggle without him. We didn't score past Clyde without him a few months ago, and we'll probably not manage to score tomorrow. Gus MacPherson seems insistent on playing John O'Neill up front with Brian McGinty. Why? It doesn't work. O'Neill is better coming from midfield. Allan Russell scored last week, and does well against Clyde, so hopefully he will start. The other option is John Baird, and with him being an ex Clyde player that might work as well.
Assistant manager Andy Millen is also an ex Clyde player, and he scored his only Saints goal against them from the penalty spot back in January. We need him to do well tomorrow, along with the rest of the defence. The back line has looked shaky in recent weeks, conceding four goals in the last three games. The sooner Millen, Captain Chaos and Kirk Broadfoot start getting back to proper defending (though it could be argued at least one of them never did that in the first place) the better.
Clyde have done superbly well this season. They were left for dead in the summer; sod all players, no manager and major financial problems. However, since then they have shown superb bouncebackability to sit joint top of the league. They got Billy Reid in as boss, signed some players and seem to be doing OK financially, though they aren't helped by having sod all fans. They still have Ian Harty, which is not good news for us as he seems to be on good form at the moment. Fortunately there is no more Andy Smith or Pat Keogh, so we'll be safe from them.
We need to win tomorrow, otherwise we can kiss a promotion fight goodbye. Sadly I see Clyde coming out on top.
