It was a cracking night at Love Street, with Ricky Gillies' last minute goal completing a remarkable come back after Stevie Thompson had fired United into the lead. Anything other than a win would virtually have sent us down, instead we got a stay of executation.
Saints should probably never been in any trouble, being miles clear of United at one stage. However, the Arabs started throwing cash around like there was no tomorrow, signing the likes of Charlie Miller and Derek Lilley. Saints response was to sign Moussa Dagnogo.
All that's now in the past, although there will probably still be a few Saints fans who feel there is a score to settle.
Saints are on decent form at the moment, whilst United aren't. Under Brewster, they've won just once in the league since January, and as that was against Livingston at Tannadice it doesn't really count. Last season's top scorer Lee Miller has yet to get off the mark this season, whilst the Tangerines needed extra time to oversee Airdrie during the week. Due to this combination, it's likely Saints will help out and donate a win and a hat trick for someone called Miller. We've done it before...
Saints have just one injury problem, with Brian McGinty still ruled out. Richard Brittain may be absent again due to off the pitch matters, although he should make the bench. Which of Billy Mehmet and Stewart Kean joins him on the bench is a bit of a mystery. Mehmet scored twice in midweek and so could be in with a shout of keeping his place in the starting lineup, whilst Kean has done well so far this season.
One player who almost definitely won't start is former United goalkeeper Tony Bullock, who has had to resort to bench warming this season after some good displays from Chris Smith. Aside from the stirking situation, the rest of the team will probably be as it has been for the past few league games.
