Saints v Inverness Caledonian Thistle Preview

Neither side has registered a point yet and so will see tomorrow's match as the perfect opportunity to get off the mark. From a Saints point of view you really have to wonder when we'll win a game if we can't beat either Inverness Caley Thistle or Motherwell at home.

We've yet to score a goal so far and the chances are the same could happen again tomorrow. There's no Craig Dargo to haunt his former club - he's still injured - and nothing seems to have been done to solve the lack of creativity. Franco Miranda is finally here and could start, but it would be a major surprise if he made much of an impact on his debut. We're still without a right winger, meaning one of Garry Brady or Richard Brittain will start there. I'd love to see us go with Stephen O'Donnell instead - he's attacking, he scored for the reserves in midweek and he's creative. What's not to like?

In all honesty, it will probably be a side similar to the one that faced Motherwell. There may be a different right winger and Miranda may start but that'll be it. The ineffectual strike force of Billy Mehmet and Stewart Kean will continue to plug away with little success - although, in fairness, they aren't exactly getting given much opportunity to shoot. Craig Molloy, Ian Maxwell and Eddie Malone will join Dargo in the stand.

Caley Thistle have actually managed to be below us in the table, thanks in part to their amusing defeat at Fir Park last week after the much hated Ross Tokely put them a goal up with five minutes left. Many seem to think this could be this season could spell trouble for the Highland side - although Gretna seem to be more than capable of providing them with a safety net at the moment. Reports suggest their new Romanian signing is a bit of a diver, but it wouldn't surprise me if he scored tomorrow.

The chances of us scoring are slim and a 0-0 draw seems a tempting prediction, but Caley Thistle will probably sneak this one 1-0 - the Romanian or Tokely scoring.
