Admittedly, that statistic needs to be put into context. We've only played twice this year, and one of those games was against a third division side. The other was against a team with a duff defender and an even more duff goalkeeper. But it's a nice record to have, especially as both games have been at home - where we struggled last year.
Barring any signings later today (highly unlikely) then Saints will probably go with the same team that beat Dumbarton last week - with one change. Gary Mason is suspended and will have to miss out, meaning the likely return of Hugh Murray. The conspiracy theorists have been in over drive after he was missing last week, but the fact is we could only have five subs and there was no need to put Shuggy on the bench.
As for other possible changes, your guess is as good as mine. I've lost count of the number of times I've said we'll go with the same side, only for us to make several changes. Craig Dargo may be dropped if Saints boss Gus MacPherson deems him not to be fit enough, while Andy Dorman could be handed his first start. Stephen O'Donnell and Richard Brittain are, as usual, the only players missing through injury, so don't be surprised if it is the same as last week with Murray for Mason.
It was on May 12 last year that Saints recorded perhaps their most incredible win of recent times - and it came against Motherwell. Trailing 1-0 at half time at Fir Park, and with Dunfermline winning in Inverness, things looked bleak. They looked even worse when Ross McCormack scored a penalty early in the second half. Then, the miracle. John Sutton and Billy Mehmet arrived from the bench. Within five minutes they'd each scored to level things up. Caley Thistle equalised, Sutton scored with five minutes left to send the Saints fans wild, then in the final minute Caley Thistle scored again to complete a truely remarkable afternoon that kept Saints up. The same again in terms of excitement would be fine tomorrow - as long as we win!
McCormack is one of a few people being linked with moves away from Fir Park, with a summer switch to Middlesbrough looking possible. Chris Porter could end up at Norwich, while such is the quality of the job Mark McGhee has done since taking over in the summer that he is being linked with the Scotland job.
So, tomorrow could be quite a few folks last games for Motherwell, and that's why I think they'll go out in style with a 1-0 win.
