We must win tomorrow and follow it up with another win on Tuesday at Brechin. No excuses. These two games are against the bottom two sides in the division, so full points is a must. With St. Johnstone taking on Ross County tomorrow, a win for us and a draw at Dingwall would be just the ticket.
Saints have one injury problem as Craig Hinchcliffe has been rulled out until the summer. Apart from that everyone is fit, although Kirk Broadfoot and Brian McGinty are lacking match fitness and will probably miss out. It will be interesting to see what changes there are, if any, to the team that lost to Gretna a fortnight ago. Stewart Kean has failed to score in open play since December, and the last time he scored in open play at Love Street was the last time Queen of the South came calling in October!
Kean was lethal earlier in the season with John Sutton, but the pair have scored just four goals between them this year, three of them penalties. Sutton has scored in two of the last three games so is likely to start, but Kean may well be replaced with Billy Mehmet or Mark Corcoran.
Saints were boosted this week with the news that Queen of the South manager Ian McCall had picked up the manager of the month award for February. The winners of this award usually lose their next game! The award comes after some good form from the Doonhamers and they will be hoping to continue it tomorrow.
Former Saint makes his second visit to Love Street after returning to Palmerston in the summer. He's on good form at the moment, as his Andy Thomson, who is also in his second spell with the Dumfries side. If they keep their good form up, they could just help Queen of the South avoid any involvement in the relegation playoffs this summer.
Saints have won their last two home games but have only scored in two of their last seven. As a result I think the visitors will win 1-0.
