In the pre season of 1999 we beat Rangers 2-1 at Love Street and went on to win the league. Stewart Kean will start and it will probably be John Baird alongside him. No disrespect to Baird, but he's not going to be that great alongside Kean as the two players are quite similar. Brian McGinty is injured, which is good, so the only other option would be to push Kirk Broadfoot up front like we did on Saturday.
Mixu Paatelainen is still not fit whilst Ryan McCay is out after undergoing surgery on an injury picked up from one of the thugs who passes for a Rangers youth player a few months ago. God knows what sort of lineup or formation we'll put out. Will it really make a difference against Rangers?
Rangers will no doubt have some of their new signings on show tonight, the only one I've heard of being former Hibs captain Ian Murray. Faith hearler extrordinaire Marvin Andrews looks set to start, as does Stefan Klos now that he is free from injury. Barry Ferguson and Fernando Ricksen will probably also play at some stage so hopefully Andy Millen can give them a good kicking during the evening.
There will be a match report of tonight's game but it probably won't be online until tomorrow evening.
