Let's be honest though. If you'd offered most Saints fans a win at the weekend or a win tonight, most (including myself) would have gone for a win on Saturday. So, whilst a win tonight would be very welcome, it's not going to have that big an effect on our season, unless we draw the Old Firm in the next round.
With that in mind then, it will be interesting to see what sort of team Gus MacPherson puts out. Will he give the likes of John Baird and Chris Smith a chance, or will he go with a full strength side? After doing well on Saturday it is likely that Brian McGinty will start, although he seems to do best when he comes off the bench. Billy Mehmet and John Potter are both doubts ahead of tonight's match, whilst Mark Reilly is set to miss out again.
St. Johnstone have the same squad availible to them as they did for Saturday, with one addition. New Zealand goalkeeper Mark Paston has signed for them and could make his debut, which might unsettle the defence a bit. He's only just shorter than Kevin James so crosses shouldn't be a problem for him to deal with, but hopefully apart from that he'll be useless.
As I said, a win tonight would be nice, but as long as we come out of tonight's game with no injury or suspension problems I'll be happy.
