Stranraer v Saints Preview

Chances are that away supports across the country will be down tonight due to the midweek games. it's a mystery why we're playing midweek. Looking at the fixtures, the season ends a week earlier than normal, why? It's not as if hundreds of SFL players will be heading to Germany to play in the World Cup Finals, is it? We've had enough midweek games this season as it is without the SFL giving us another one.

Anyways, it looks possible that Saints manager Gus MacPherson will start with the same eleven that has started the last two games. There is, however, a doubt over captain Kevin McGowne after his injury against Dundee on Saturday. If he fails to make it then we could see Ian Maxwell replace him, which could even mean a complete change of formation! Mark Reilly might play, but his level of fitness is unknown, whilst Brian McGinty and Ryan McCay aren't quite there yet. Chris Smith picked up a knock on Saturday but he better be fit, otherwise we might have a seventeen year old playing as Craig Hinchcliffe is nowhere near fit.

Stranraer have lots of injury worries and might not be able to fill the bench. This is bad, as we often struggle against teams claiming to be down to the bare bones. They may also be missing Michael Moore as he has an SFA disciplinary hearing today after threatening behaviour towards a referee at the start of the season. If he misses out it will be good for us, as he's tlaking today about how much he'd love to score against us. He's managed it before, but also got sent off in the same game. Idiot.

Prediction for tonight? We're in decent form and Stranraer have no injuries, so I reckon they'll win 1-0 with Moore scoring.
