Callum Topping opened the scoring for the Jambos in first half stoppage time with Gordon Smith doubling the lead after the break.
Despite losing, there was some good news for Saints as Grant Adam returned from injury. The goalkeeper got injured a few weeks into the season but played the full game, suggesting he is well on the road to recovery.
