The English Premiership side's under-21 team, who are managed by former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs, are in Scotland to play a few games this week, with a match against Kilmarnock coming up in the next few days.
Their northern tour didn't get off to the best of starts when Adam Brown put Saints in front with a fantastic looping header, but it looked as if they'd recorded a win thanks to second half goals from Chris Long and Hallam Hope.
However, with just a couple of minutes left Saints were given a penalty when Lewis Morgan was fouled and scored from the spot to ensure the sides ended the match on level terms.
