The only Saints game Mr Boyle has done so far in his career was in October 2007 at Easter Road. We won 1-0 thanks to Billy Mehmet's goal, with Hibs' Dean Shiels correctly sent off for a horror tackle on one of our players.
He has also only done one Aberdeen game to date, which was a 2-0 win over Motherwell at Pittodrie earlier this season. Motherwell also had Paul Quinn sent off that day, while one of Aberdeen's goals came from the penalty spot.
Mr Boyle first did an SPL game in 2006/07 and has gradually been gaining experience of the top flight in the last few years. In 18 games so far this season he has shown 56 yellow cards and five reds - although not one for a while. Perhaps he's due - let's just hope that, after what happened yesterday, it's not one of our players he sends off!
