Going by Soccerbase, Mr Norris is in just his fourth season of refereeing league games and has encountered Saints and Hamilton just four times. I wish to thank the SFA for this appointment as it means slightly less writing over the festive period!
This official has been in charge of one Saints game so far this season - and we won! The game in question was our first league win of the season when we beat Kilmarnock 2-1 at Rugby Park thanks to Stephen McGinn's second half double. Incredibly, we didn't lose the other game he has done - a 1-1 draw with Falkirk at Love Street last season - and we were correctly awarded a penalty.
Mr Norris' record with Hamilton isn't quite as good as they have lost both games where he has been the referee. One was at Pittodrie in March, Aberdeen winning 1-0, and the other was to St. Johnstone while Accies were still in the first division. They lost 2-1 in Perth.
Nothing too remarkable then and a lack of red cards - Mr Norris hasn't sent anyone off since the opening day of the season - suggest he's pretty lenient. Let's just hope we don't need to use his inexperience as an excuse for a defeat.
