Last April saw him referee a match between the two sides which Hibs won 2-0 thanks to some early goals. A few days later he took charge of another of our games, against Gretna at Fir Park, which finished 0-0.
Mr Finnie has yet to take charge of any SPL games this season but tomorrow won't be his first trip to Love Street. In December 2006, he was the man in the middle for a goalless draw between Saints and Dunfermline. According to Soccerbase, this was his first ever match in Scottish league football which I find hard to believe.
Their stats also show that Mr Finnie has yet to issue a red card in games involving Saints and has been pretty sparing with his cautions. The main worry is that we've failed to score in any of three games he has officiated.
