His two games with us this season have seen us suffer 2-0 defeats at Aberdeen and Dundee United. Last season he did one - a 5-1 hammering by Falkirk at Love Street (in which future Saint Steven Thomson scored). In our first season in the SPL he did another couple of defeats, a 2-0 one at Parkhead and 1-0 one at Tannadice. So, five SPL games, five defeats and just one goal. This does not bode well.
You'd have thought things might improve from our first division times, but no. The only game he did in our title winning season saw us stuffed 4-0 by Dundee at Dens Park! This seems to be the first of our games he did, leaving us with the brilliant record of played six, lost six, scored one and conceded 16 in games involving Mr Winter. This is an abysmal record, and the last few weeks don't suggest it'll be improved on Saturday.
He has only done one 'Well game this season, a 2-1 defeat at Tynecastle. He didn't do any last season, but in 2006/07 he oversaw their 2-1 win over Kilmarnock where he amusingly sent off three players, two of them playing for the Steelmen. This seems to be all Soccerbase shows for his games involving Motherwell.
Strangely, despite having been in charge of 25 games this season, Mr Winter has only shown two red cards and they came in the same week back in September. So, after the inevitable defeat, at least we should still have everyone available for the Kilmarnock game!
