Soccerbase shows Mr Nicholls has taken charge of three games this season - and flashed his red card four times! This has to be some sort of record. His average for the last two seasons is about one every four games, but his first season as a league official - 2006/07 - saw him average one every two games!
His only SPL game to date came at the end of last season When Kilmarnock beat Motherwell in a meaningless, end of season games. His only two games involving St. Johnstone also came last season, with an extra time defeat at Livingston in a cup being followed up by a home win over Morton.
That's about all there is to say for Mr Nicholls. If he keeps his impressive red card run going, he'll be the first official to send someone off at St. Mirren Park.
