A draw at Pittodrie is always a decent result I feel and we've now managed it on our last three league trips there (four in all competitions if you include the penalty shoot-out). We had been in good form going into this one but that made it classic Saints slip-up territory, considering the Dons were in poor form.
There were plenty of changes for Saints with Paul Dummett, David Barron and Kenny McLean starting while Graham Carey and David van Zanten ended up on the bench. John McGinn wasn't even a sub - perhaps because he was in Holland with the Scotland under-19s during the week.
By all accounts it wasn't a particularly exciting game, Craig Samson saving from Johnny Hayes before Gary Teale went close for the Buddies.
With just under 20 minutes left Aberdeen had Mark Reynolds sent off but we couldn't make our numerical advantage count, Esmael Goncalves being foiled by Jamie Langfield late on when he perhaps should have scored.
We're still 11th - 15 points clear of Dundee and one behind Hearts. With eight games left until the split we're still only four points behind sixth placed Dundee and only another four off second place!
