The gap to bottom placed Dunfermline is now just four points, thanks to their last minute winner against Dundee United. With Falkirk and Motherwell also losing, only four points separate the bottom six teams in the table. The recent results haven't been great for Saints, but at least we're not stranded in a two way battle to avoid the drop.
Saints stuck with their traditional 3-5-2, with John Potter finally returning to the side along with Alan Reid - Kevin McGowne and Garry Brady the pair to drop out.
Judging by the report on the BBC website we rarely threatened, and something really needs to be done about this as we rarely threatened Celtic or Caley Thistle at Love Street until well into the second half. Whether it's a change of formation, altering the strikeforce or bringing in an attacking midfield player I don't know, but the fact is we're struggling. Only John Sutton is scoring goals at the moment, and even he couldn't help us today.
It's off to Tannadice next Sunday to take on Dundee United. Are we at the must win stage already?
