Sadly I wasn't there, but it seems to have been a fairly even game with Saints taking advantage of their chances. John Sutton has come in for a bit of stick from some folk over the season (not me, for once!) but answered his critics in the best possible fashion. On the night his brother Chris was in a Birmingham side that conceded seven to Liverpool, he fired three past the division's bottom side. The first came in the first half, the other two coming in the second half.
There was more good news for Buddies fans when Stranraer grabbed a late equaliser for a 2-2 draw against Ross County. Both Stranraer's goals were scored by folk from Paisley, and the result leaves us 11 points clear of County and St. Johnstone with six games left.
Three wins will guarantee it, although if we win our next two games and County and St. Johnstone don't we'll have done it.
There's still a long way to go and the league isn't over yet, but the finishing line is in sight.
