Hamilton Academical 0 St. Mirren 0
New Douglas Park witnessed a very poor and uneventful match which St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson was quick to blame on Hamilton's artificial surface.
It was a remarkably incident-free match, considering the fact that the home side could yet be relegated from the Scottish first division. However, although there was less at stake for St Mirren, they were the livelier of the two sides.
New signing Alan Reid impressed with attacking runs on the right wing and even managed a couple of first half efforts, although not seriously troubling David McEwan in the Accies goal.
For the home team, Mark Corcoran went closest three minutes before the break, forcing Craig Hinchcliffe to save a long-range half volley afte rPat Keogh had chested the ball into his path. However, chances were few and far between in this game, and had Keogh done better with a second-half chance that fell to his feet, rather than fumbling the ball behind, Accies might have secured three points they scarcely deserved.
At the other end, Allan Russell almost benefited from weak defending by Francisco Ortiz Paquito who allowed the Saints' forward to rob him twice before seeing his shot drift wide.
Russell later saw a header saved after 73 minutes, al though neither side deserved to win and both managers were happy with a point.
