Thanks to results elsewhere, the win shoots Saints up to the heady heights of seventh place - not bad considering we were worrying about being stranded at the foot of the table a few weeks ago! The gap to 12th placed side Falkirk is now four points and hopefully the last few results are a sign that things are on the up.
Saints boss Gus MacPherson decided to go with a 4-4-2 after the 35-2 worked so well against Rangers, with Miranda - now free of suspension - replacing Scott Cuthbert and Hugh Murray replacing Andy Dorman.
I wasn't there today so this will be a fairly brief report. Saints opened the scoring when Steven Robb picked out Miranda and the Argentinian slotted home his first goal in over a year. Hamilton equalised nine minutes later when former Buddie Mark Corcoran's free-kick was headed in by the unfortunate Jack Ross.
Mehmet was handed the perfect chance to restore the lead soon after when Saints were given a penalty after Simon Mensing had pulled back Robb, but the striker's spot kick was saved by Tomas Cerny. However, just before half time Miranda's cross was headed back across goal by Murray and Mehmet foreced it home, with help from Accies defender Chris Swailes.
After a thrilling first half, there were no more goals after the break as Saints recorded back to back wins. Fingers crossed these results are the start of a decent run of form that keeps us near the top of the bottom six.
