Considering we have only ever won once at Easter Road in the SPL, a draw is a superb result - especially at this stage of proceedings, when every point is a prisoner. To do it after losing the first goal is also impressive - the only frustrating thing is not winning at a ground where Hamilton took all three points last week.
After losing to Rangers last week, Saints made three changes. John Potter was suspended, while Paddy Cregg and Aaron mooy dropped out. In came Lee Mair, Hugh Murray and Kenny McLean.
Hibs had a couple of early chances and took the lead just before the half hour mark when Derek Riordan pounced on a mistake to play in Akpo Sodje, who fired home.
Liam Miller missed a chance to double the lead before Saints drew level when Paul McGowan was fouled inside the box by Victor Palsson and Dargo tucked away the penalty.
Chances were few and far between in the second half, Sodje shooting wide before sub Gareth Wardlaw had an effort saved by Mark Brown.
A good result then and, as I mentioned at the start, it means a win over Hamilton a week tomorrow will officially make us safe. However, this is St Mirren we're talking about - we can't possibly do things in such a straightforward manner, can we?
