Inverness Caley Thistle 1-2 Saints

Jim Hamilton was restored to the starting 11 in place of Craig Dargo in the only change from the side that lost to Aberdeen a fortnight ago. Dargo and Dennis Wyness both had to make do with a place on the bench against their former club, with Dargo brought on in the final minute.

Caley Thistle went in front just before half time when Adam Rooney scored from the spot after Franco Miranda had fouled inside the box. Rooney hit the bar after the break before Mehmet equalised after an hour with a good header.

With ten minutes left Saints went in front for the first time in an SPL game since early May when sub Stephen McGinn set up Garry Brady to score what turned out to be the winner. It's our first away win in the league since Boxing Day and the first time we've come from behind to win since the drama at Motherwell in May 2007.

It also means that in each of the last three seasons our first win of the SPL season has been a 2-1 victory over Caley Thistle. Hopefully we can get them on the opening day next season!
