Once again it seems another day of creating chances and just not taking them - and once again we were made to pay. The two sides are fairly similar on paper so to lose to them like this is pretty disappointing.
Gary Teale replaced Graham Carey in the only change to the side that beat Hearts last week and it seems we carved plenty of goal scoring opportunities in the first half, Kyle Letheren twice saving from Lewis Guy. However, midway through the half it was Killie who opened the scoring when Cillian Sheridan headed in his first for his new club.
Guy hit the bar in the second half but by that stage we were already 3-0 down, James Fowler scoring before James Dayton scored with a fine individual goal. Paul McGowan, who enjoyed scoring against Killie last season, got one back late on but it was far too late to make a difference.
Not a good day to be a Buddie. Let's hope it's sorted for Tuesday's cup game against Hamilton.
