We have played competitive games in Dingwall 7 times now, winning twice in cups (one on penalties), once in the league and losing the other four times. Add that to our record against Caley in Inverness, where we have played 9 competitive games (I think!) with only a win and a draw to show for our efforts, and you can see why we hate playing these teams so much.
There were no goals in the first half, which I'm told Saints had the better of. However, County had the better of the second half, apparently, and it shows from the goal line. They were awarded a clear penalty, which they converted, before Saints were also denied a stonewaller with Ricky Gillies about to equalise. County wrapped things up in the last minute when Scott Gemmill scored a peach of a goal. I wouldn't be too bothered, seeing as the game was already lost, but Gemmill is a Saints player! One of the best OG's you'll see for a while.
Kevin Twaddle made an appearance which I suppose is a positive. We really need Simon Lappin to be fit for Saturday's game against Clyde, and at least one of Eddie Annand or Barry Lavety. If we fail to beat Clyde, we'll have gone the first four league games without victory, not a great way to start a title challenge!
This brief match report would have been online earlier but I had to wait to watch Scotsport before doing it :-)
