I wasn't at the game, so can't comment on what went on. Alex Burke put County ahead with a goal three minutes into the second half on his debut. It looked like it would be enough, but Ricky Gillies scored an equaliser three minutes from time. Extra time was almost certain, but Burke scored again with just three minutes to go. Ah well.
As I said, there are some positives. Ricky Gillies actually scored, his first since a game against Ross County last year! We scored in Dingwall, our first goal there which wasn't a penalty since sometime during 01/02, despite visiting there at least five times since! We didn't get taken to extra time, and don't have to cope with silly additional matches now.
The biggest plus is that fellow relegation rivals Hamilton, Airdrie United and Raith Rovers were all beaten. All three teams lost 2-0; Hamilton to St. Johnstone, Airdrie to Queen of the South, and Raith Rovers to third division Albion Rovers!
Some bad news though. Falkirk thrashed Ayr United 3-0 in preparation for a trip to Love Street. Forfar gave local rivals Morton a 3-1 doing, which is funny, but I'll save my slagging until we've played Forfar in the league cup in a week or so.
