I can't be bothered writing much as hardly anything happened. Brian McGinty started in place of the injured Allan Russell, whilst youngsters David McKenna and Craig Molloy were on the bench.
Saints had a few chances in the first half. Eddie Annand finished well, but sadly it was offside. He had a good chance later but hit straight at the goalkeeper, only for play to be called back for a free kick. We had Mike McCurry as ref, so we know that all Raith's diving and cheating would see us punished. The best Raith attempt was in the first few minutes, when the Raith player attempted to fly inside the penalty box. Fortunately it wasn't a penalty.
Saints scored, from a corner! Only the third time this season, I think. Kirk Broadfoot bundled the ball across the line.
Half time, 1-0 Saints. Reject Andy Dow was taken off at half time, and the highlight was seeing my name in the programme. Cheers Norrie :-)
Ricky Gillies went close to adding a second early on in the second half, but his impressive volley went just wide. This was the only clear cut chance of the first half for Saints, as the players just gave up. McGinty was replaced with McKenna, whilst later on Laurie Ellis replaced Simon Lappin and Chris McGroarty replaced Annand.
Raith scored the equaliser thanks to duff defending, and their striker had an easy header into the net. They could have won, but didn't.
In truth, it was a duff match. Ayr drew with Clyde, so they are safe, but are still 6 points, and a few goals, behind Raith. With an Ayr v Raith showdown on the last day of the season at Somerset, Ayr could still stay up.
Elsewhere, Airdrie United/Clydebank secured promotion, whilst Morton lost again. After having a massive lead, Morton could still stay down, let alone fail to win the title. Which would be nice.
