It's been a long time - six years in fact - since we managed to beat the Saintees, so it was long overdue. We're now just one win away from the semi-finals and two games away from a chance to make up for last year's disaster.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves - we don't even know we'll be playing in the quarter-finals yet!
Danny Lennon finally made changes to his side, but it wasn't the ones everyone expected - Kenny McLean replacing Paul McGowan and Marc McAusland coming back in for Ilias Haddad.
It was, by all acounts, a good first half display with a number of chances created but it wasn't until seven minutes from the break before we went in front, Jamie Adams scoring an own goal after good work from Steven Thompson.
Right on halftime club captain Jim Goodwin opened his Saints account, scoring a peach of a goal from 25 yards.
The Saintees upped the pressure in the second half but were unable to find a way through, leaving the travelling fans to plot their route to the last eight.
