Trialist Dominic Shimmin was the only survivor from the team that started last night's friendly against Dumbarton, with the likes of Gary Mason, Will Haining and Chris Smith all featuring. New boy Tom Brighton was given his first start, but it was strike partner Hamilton who opened the scoring after just a few minutes.
Hamilton scored again midway through the first half, before Albion's Steven Waddell made things interesting when he pulled one back with 25 minutes left. However, the second division side were unable to force an equaliser and Dorman wrapped up the win with just a few minutes left.
Everyone in the squad has now played the equivalent of one game (with the exception of the injured Jack Ross) and, while last night was disappointing, we've come through without a defeat. It'll be interesting to see how we do against Morton on Saturday and also what happens with Shimmin and any other trialists between now and the end of the friendlies a week on Saturday.
